Oops, They Did It Again! Internet Trolls Win Another Round Against Shia

Less than two weeks after taking down Shia LaBeouf’s “He Will Not Divide Us” flag from its undisclosed location, the collective power of 4chan and 8chan came together to again find and capture the flag, this time in England.

On Wednesday, the HWNDU project posted a new live stream, stating that the flag had been “adopted” by the Foundation for Art and Creative Technology in Liverpool. Within minutes, the flag’s exact location had been identified.

“Stealing this flag is literally just a stroll across the rooftops,” one user wrote. Floor plans for the entire building were posted as users calculated plans to make it to the roof undetected.

Without any warning, a masked figure appeared on the live stream, but struggled to cut the rope holding up the flag.

“Why did Shia have to choose the country with the most f***ing incompetent people in it?” someone wrote.

Before the flag could be successfully cut down, the stream was cut off, and users scrambled to find out what happened.

Pictures of a now-empty flagpole trickled in, but confirmation of the flag’s capture had to wait until someone posted a timestamped photo to the board.

“We will troll Shia and his bull**** wherever he goes,” someone wrote.

A few minutes later, the masked individual posted his own confirmation to the image board.

FACT Liverpool later commented on the event, calling it “dangerous, illegal trespassing.”
